1Senior Cost Accountant — Grand Rapids, Michigan

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Cost Accountant will be responsible for the development of standard costing, will work to implement the financial systems and data used to support cultivation and manufacturing processes, and to identify areas where improvement is possible. Our ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit and must be a self-starter who is highly organized with great attention to detail and who is able to see and understand global and local impact.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development of a bill of materials for all products and implement cost standards for materials, labor, and overhead
  • Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on cost
  • Validate the cost of goods sold as part of a standard costing system during the close process
  • Assist with inventory observations and cycle count programs with facility managers, suppliers, and external auditors
  • Work with the Controller to develop financial models for each facility
  • Assist wtih the month-end & year-end close process
  • Investigate significant trends/variances for cost reduction regarding material, labor, overhead, and other types of costs related to manufacturing products
  • Assist with implementation of the Enterprise Resource Planning and other reporting tools
  • Work cross-functionally with operations on various projects designed to increase through-put, decrease costs, and increase profits and efficiencies
  • Identify areas of overspending and ways to increase production
  • Understand and articulate operational issues and their impact in order to assist with operational decision making
  • Evaluate and improve business controls impacting manufacturing and inventory
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of production/harvest cycle planner and other cultivation and manfucturing KPIs 
  • Work cross-functionally with company departments and external partners such as supply chain and marketing to accomplish goals
Required Experience, Education, and Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required
  • 2-4 years of Cost Accounting is required
  • 2-3 years of public accounting experience combined with 2-3 years cost accounting experience is ideal
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Western Michigan area candidates strongly preferred
  • Travel between our Grand Rapids and Adrian campus is required. Travel expectation is 25-50% 
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office required
  • Experience with financial accounting systems is a plus (Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and consistent follow through on assigned tasks 
  • An entrepreneurial spirit that will enjoy working for start-up in a fast-paced environment 
  • Capacity to work beyond your comfort level and desire to learn new skills
  • Ability to work independently in a highly organized manner

1Sales Support Specialist — Grand Rapids, Michigan

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Fluresh Controller, the Sales Support Specialist will work cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and Finance to  ensure our customers receive world class customer service.  Key responsibilities include coordinating product availability with Operations and Sales, coordinating sales invoicing, managing customer accounts, and providing excellent customer service.  Our ideal candidate will have sales support or inside sales experience, a customer focus, and an ability to work across functions to support the sales team in meeting customer needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop a deep understanding of Fluresh products and the systems used in the order to payment process 
  • Coordinate with the Sales Team to gather all necessary new customers documents such as Sales Tax Exemption Form, New Customer Form & Form 8300 as necessary 
  • Assist the Sales Team in setting up new customers in Leaflink or Microsoft Dynamics (ERP), as well as assisting with any on-going customer maintenance
  • Verify all Sales Orders have been set-up correctly  
  • Analyze inventory and coordinate with the Operations team to update a summary of available inventory for the Sales team daily
  • Reconcile invoices from Leaflink and Microsoft Dynamics with manifests from METRC daily to ensure the completeness and accuracy of all invoicing
  • Work with the Sales Team on invoicing for large orders
  • Effectively resolve any customer complaints in a timely manner in partnership with the Sales, Operations, and Finance teams 
  • Escalate customer calls to the Sales team as needed in a timely manner
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for improvements in the order to payment process based on customer feedback 
  • Other job duties as assigned.  
Required Experience, Education, and Skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associate or Bachelor degree in business or marketing preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience in sales support or inside sales required
  • Experience working in the cannabis industry is a strong plus
  • Western Michigan area candidates highly preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office required
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and consistent follow through on assigned tasks

2Human Resources Generalist — Adrian, Michigan

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, who is based in Grand Rapids, the Human Resources Generalist will manage the day to day Human Resources function at our Adrian campus including the administration of human resources policies, procedures, and programs.  The position will be involved in sourcing, recruiting, on-boarding, training, employee relations, and handling payroll and benefits.  As a key member of the human resources team, the HR Generalist will help ensure the retention and engagement of our workers.  In addition, the HR Generalist will oversee the office in Adrian and ensure it is operating smoothly. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Human Resources
  • Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
  • Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes
  • Conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications
  • Conduct employee onboarding and help plan training & development
  • Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form
  • Administer compensation and benefit plans
  • Ensure compliance with labor regulations
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Organize annual employee performance reviews
  • Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits, and organizing team building activities
  • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications
  • Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies
  • Help supervisors manage the performance of their staff by assisting in conducting and collecting annual reviews and implementing ongoing performance communication 
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Office Administration
  • Oversee and support all administrative duties in the Adrian office and ensure that office is operating smoothly
  • Receive and sort incoming mail and deliveries, and manage outgoing mail
  • Manage office supplies inventory and place orders as necessary
  • Manage the employee uniform program and ensure employees are using uniforms properly
  • Assist in general office flow and communication
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required and Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, business, or similar discipline is required 
  • 3-5 years’ experience as a HR Generalist and 2+ years’ experience with benefits administration is mandatory
  • Southeastern Michigan area candidates highly preferred
  • Broad knowledge of employment law, compensation, organizational planning, benefits, organizational development, employee relations, safety, and training is required
  • Experience in office management is highly preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • High professional standards of integrity, ethics, confidentiality, and teamwork
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills; detail orientated, with proven ability to handle multiple responsibilities of competing priority
