Where the Grand Rapids Cannabis Story Began
In February 2020, Fluresh opened the doors to Grand Rapids’ first licensed medical cannabis dispensary. Eight months later, on October 23, 2020, we made history again as the city’s first recreational marijuana dispensary, welcoming adult-use customers to 1213 Phillips Ave SW.
But being first wasn’t just about timing. It was about building something Grand Rapids deserved: a cannabis experience rooted in quality, equity, and genuine community connection.
Today, Fluresh is the retail heart of Tend.Harvest.Cultivate (T.H.C.), a vertically integrated Michigan cannabis company that controls every step from cultivation to your shopping bag. We grow, process, manufacture, and sell cannabis products designed for real people living real lives.

What does vertical integration actually mean for you? It means when you pick up a jar of Carbon flower or a pack of Mr. X gummies, or a newfrend AIO, we control the entire journey. Our state-of-the-art indoor cultivation facility spans approximately 133,000 square feet, located right here in Grand Rapids. We utilize advanced environmental controls and energy-conscious practices to grow exceptional cannabis more sustainably.
We hand-trim our flower. We flash-freeze plants at peak potency for our concentrates. We hang-dry whole plants for 14 weeks to preserve every terpene. And we manufacture everything from edibles to prerolls in-house, so quality never gets outsourced.
This level of control matters because cannabis isn’t one-size-fits-all. Your needs are different from your neighbor’s, and both of you deserve products built with intention, tested rigorously, and crafted to deliver consistent experiences.

Equity, Jobs, and Real Community Investment
When we expanded our Grand Rapids facility in July 2020, we didn’t just build a grow. We created roughly 100 new local jobs and entered into the city’s Marihuana Industry Voluntary Equitable Development Agreement (MIVEDA), committing to hire at least 15% of our staff from Grand Rapids residents working 30+ hours per week.
Our social equity plan goes further. We prioritize hiring locals, people with prior cannabis convictions, and applicants from high-unemployment or low-income neighborhoods. Cannabis built wealth in this country for decades while locking too many people out. We’re working to change that, one job and one opportunity at a time.
Beyond hiring, we partner with organizations focused on social justice, volunteer in our community, and run a Cannabis Entrepreneurship Program (C.E.P.) to help the next generation of Michigan cannabis leaders get their start. We’re proud members of the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce and active participants in the local business ecosystem.
